Our History

Mr SJS Dippenaar is one of the founders of Dippenaar and Reinecke.

He decided to establish his own gents, ladies and academic attire business with his father in law, Mr SO Reinecke in 1935.

He acquired valuable experience as General Manager of John Jack Ltd for over ten years. He distinguished himself as an outstanding salesman, an excellent organiser and an unbelievable business administrator. He always displayed marked business acumen and organising ability which assisted him to build Dippenaar and Reinecke to one of the leading and most authoritative companies in South Africa.

Mr SO Reinecke is one of the founder members of Dippenaar and Reinecke in 1935.

He was a magistrate in Johannesburg where he also acted as a Justice of peace in 1896. He succeeded in establishing the administration of criminal justice in the Witwatersrand Department of Justice.

He was never involved in Dippenaar and Reinecke in a permanent capacity.

This premises was purchased by Dippenaar and Reinecke in 1953 on the corner of Andries and Pretorius streets in Pretoria central where they traded for many years as prestigious Outfitters and Gown suppliers.
